Lifeguard Certification

If you are interested in working as a Lifeguard or Shallow Water Lifeguard for Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF), the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course will prepare you for certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid. To enroll, participants must be 15 years old by the last day of the course (proof of age required) and pass a pre-screen test on the first pool day to continue with the course. Interested individuals must apply for a Lifeguard position online and schedule an interview. Applicants who receive a conditional job offer must complete the necessary hiring paperwork. Once the paperwork is complete, participants will be invited to register for the training class. For more information, contact Aquatics Manager Lauren Hydorn at lhydorn@mvf.org.

IMPORTANT: If you plan to apply for a job opportunity with MVF, but register for a lifeguarding course with a different agency, make sure that it is American Red Cross training and that you will receive an actual American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. MVF follows American Red Cross standards and to be considered for a position with MVF, the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate is required.
