Let’s Celebrate 60 Years of Montgomery Village Together!

In the early 1960s, a residential developer, Kettler Brothers Inc., decided to build a new town on the former Walker farm and broke ground on Feb. 28, 1966. Sixty years later – on the very date in 2026 – we invite you to celebrate this milestone year with us.

What better way to celebrate all yearlong than by participating in a fun and interactive MV 60th Anniversary Passport Journey!

Our Passport Journey will guide you through activities, events and hidden gems across the Village. Collect stamps or stickers at each stop – earn 60 validations and receive a 60th Anniversary prize!

Pick up your passport at the MV 60th Anniversary Kickoff Celebration and Recreation & Parks Open House on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lake Marion Community Center (8821 East Village Avenue). Earn bonus validations, participate in class demonstrations and activities, meet our team, and have a slice of birthday cake.

The journey will conclude at the Montgomery Village Holiday Market at Lake Marion Community Center (8821 East Village Avenue) on Saturday, Nov. 21, where prizes will be awarded.

Arrive early – the first 400 attendees will receive a plastic pouch with custom lanyard with their passport.

How It Works

Montgomery Village 60th Anniversary Passports will be distributed at our 60th Anniversary Kickoff and Recreation and Parks Open House on February 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lake Marion Community Center (8821 East Village Avenue).

The first 400 attendees will receive plastic pouch with custom 60th Anniversary Lanyard so mark your calendar and come early to most the most out of the event.

Following the Kickoff – passports will be available for pick up at the MVF Office (10120 Apple Ridge Road), Lake Marion Community Center (8821 East Village Avenue) and at MVF events.

Once you have your passport, the process is easy and self-explanatory – but since you’re here, let’s take a quick look at how it works:
1. Check your passport for upcoming activities.
2. Bring your passport to each event to earn a validation sticker or stamp.
3. Get a boost by signing up for classes (not required, but it counts).
4. Look out for pop-up opportunities that might surprise you along the way.
5. Collect 60 validations to earn an exclusive prize.

How to Know When Passport Activities Take Place

All events and programs are marked with icons and listed in the passport by month. An Event Icon Key is included on the passport instructions page to help you navigate.
1. Passport icon with a name, date, location and time: No registration required. Just show up!
2. Passport icon with a name, date and location, but NO time: Pre-registration and activity fee required.
3. Other passport events with icon only (no date, time or location): Event or opportunity to earn validation is planned; check announcements or register to receive updates by email.
4. Pop-up opportunities to earn validation may be announced on Facebook or Instagram, so be sure to follow us.

How to Avoid the Disappointment of Losing Your Passport
1. Keep it close! Keep an eye on your belongings and don’t leave your passport unattended! Just like when you travel.
2. Protect your progress. At the end of each month, take a photo of your validated pages and email them to passport@mvf.org with your full name in the subject line.
3. If the unexpected happens. If your passport is lost, request a replacement by emailing programstaff@mvf.org. Your completed activities will be revalidated based on your emailed submissions. A $20 replacement fee will apply at pickup. If step 2 was skipped, you may start fresh with a new passport while supplies last.

1. Do I need to bring my passport to events and activities?
Yes! Please bring your passport with you so we can validate your participation and add your activity stamps.

2. Can I bring my siblings’ passports if they can’t attend?
Each participant needs to attend the activity in person to have their passport validated. We look forward to seeing your siblings at another event when they can join the fun!

3. I lose my stuff all the time. How can I prevent losing my progress before it’s too late?
We understand things happen! To protect your progress, take a photo of your validated pages at the end of each month and email them to passport@mvf.org with your full name and the month in the subject line. If you lose your passport, you can request a replacement by emailing programstaff@mvf.org. Your activities can be revalidated based on your emailed submissions. A $20 replacement fee applies at pickup.

4. I lost my passport but didn’t email my progress to the loss prevention email. Can I still get a new one?
We can issue a new passport while supplies last. However, without a prior submission to the loss prevention email, we won’t be able to revalidate past activities.

5. I visit the pool every day, but my passport only allows one visit per month per pool. Can I get extra validations for my visits?
We’re thrilled you enjoy our pools! The Passport Journey is designed to encourage trying new experiences and exploring all that the Village has to offer. Just like traveling, it’s about discovering new destinations—so each pool visit can only be validated once per month.

6. How about other activities that happen more often than what is allocated in the passport. See question 5; the same principle applies.

7. Can we participate as a family and use one passport?
We recommend that everyone has their own passport, however families are welcome to share one passport and enjoy the experience together. One family member’s name must be listed on the passport, and any class boost validation will be validated for that person only. Please note that one passport equals one prize.

8. Can I join after the event has already started?
Yes! You can join the Passport Journey at any time while supplies last. It’s never too late to start exploring!

9. My child is taking a class—can I get a stamp for being the parent who pays?
We appreciate your support! However, passport validations are reserved for those actively participating in the activities. We hope you’ll join one of our adult programs too and earn your own stamps!

10. Do I need to register for classes to complete all 60 validations?
Not at all! There are plenty of fun community activities and events you can attend to reach your 60 validations. Taking a class can help boost your count, but it’s completely optional. The goal is simply to get out, explore and enjoy all that the Village has to offer!

11. I attended a few classes during the Winter Session. Can those be validated? The Passport Journey runs from February 28 through November 21.

Only classes taken during Spring, Summer and Fall 2026 sessions are eligible for validation. We hope you’ll join us for upcoming sessions to continue your journey!

12. Do validations from the Side Pool Quest count toward my Passport Journey?
The Side Pool Quest is a special standalone event that has been brought back by popular demand! While it uses the same passport, its validations are separate and do not count toward the Passport Journey total.
