Prevent theft from vehicles

Thefts from vehicles can happen in just seconds, so taking proactive safety measures can help keep your valuables secure. The Montgomery County Police Department recommends the following:

1. Lock your doors and fully close all windows.
2. Remove valuables from your vehicle or lock them in the trunk and out of sight.
3. Do not leave money in your vehicle, including loose change.
4. Park in your garage or a well‑lit area.
5. Do not hide a key or key fob inside your vehicle.
6. Consider installing anti‑theft devices or cameras.
