2026 Montgomery Village 5K Race & 1-mile Fun Run Recap!

About 200 runners, joggers and walkers of all ages took part in this year’s edition of the Montgomery Village 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, June 28! Early morning rain showers made for a wet but cool race. The course started and ended at Lake Marion Community Center, going through a tunnel, along East Village Ave. and around Ed DeSimon Park. Just over half of the runners were from Montgomery Village with others coming from other communities, including nearby Gaithersburg, Germantown, Clarksburg, and Rockville. We even welcomed runners from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.

For the full list of 5K Race results, click here and search for a runner’s bib number for their official time. The 1-Mile Fun Run was an untimed event. The top three fastest boys and girls received Fun Run Medals.

For the 5K, the fastest male and female runners overall received trophies, while the top three runners in each age range category received a gold, silver and bronze medal. Thanks to all of the runners, joggers, walkers, spectators, volunteers, paramedics, the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, and MVF staff for a great event.
