Free concert Jan. 18 to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.
Make plans to join Montgomery County’s 31st annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance and Birthday Celebration starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. The Music Center at Strathmore, located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane in North Bethesda, will host the ceremony and performances. As always, the event is free but tickets should be reserved online at www.strathmore.org.
The theme "Every Kind of People... a Blueprint For Unity" reflects King's vision of dignity, self-worth, determination, justice, beauty, unity and commitment. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations for Interfaith Works homeless shelters, particularly new personal toiletries, socks and gloves.
