About My Business

The Lois Green-Sligo Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America is a non-profit organization that borders Montgomery Village. For more than 75 years, the Chapter has been a vital part in the community by conserving, restoring and promoting the sustainable use and enjoyment of our natural resources, including the county’s soil, air, woods, waters and wildlife. The Chapter works closely with schools and libraries in Montgomery County by donating conservation materials to aid in teaching children about conservation issues. Scout troops and other organizations use our facilities and grounds for meetings, campouts and other outdoor activities. The Chapter owns 60+ acres of dense woods, fields, a one-acre pond, a picnic pavilion with restrooms and a Chapter house. Although our members get priority, the public, scout troops and other organizations can reserve our facilities and grounds for picnics, meetings, campouts and other outdoor activities.
