County hosting community virtual meetings on health strategies

Montgomery County invites residents to participate in two virtual community meetings to help identify strategies for addressing the county’s most pressing health challenges. The meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. Spanish interpretation will be available during both sessions.

These meetings are part of an ongoing effort by the county’s Public Health Services, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with Adventist Healthcare, Holy Cross Health, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center and Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The goal is to gather meaningful community input that will inform future health strategies and support planning efforts by healthcare providers and local organizations.

Last year, similar meetings helped identify key concerns for residents, including difficulties accessing comprehensive healthcare, a need for expanded community services and a desire for more support around healthier lifestyle choices. This year’s focus shifts to developing strategies and solutions based on those identified needs. Residents will play a critical role in shaping how the county addresses these issues moving forward.

Registration is required to attend the meetings and will remain open until the start of each session. Residents who are unable to attend are encouraged to share their input online.

Montgomery County continues to prioritize health equity by ensuring community voices are central to decision-making and policy development. These meetings are a key step in that process.
