Resident publishes book of short fiction stories
The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County has funded the publication of “Love, Loss, & Ghosts”—a collection of short fiction that features stories set in Montgomery Village, Poolesville and other sites in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The author, Carol Westreich Solomon, is a Montgomery Village resident and formerly taught in MCPS high schools, including Poolesville and Wootton. She also served as the IB Magnet Director at Richard Montgomery High School.
“Love, Loss, & Ghosts” includes 16 short stories, including the award-winning story "The Fixer." Each story reveals a person who has lost love and found a substitute, sometimes another person, sometimes self-destructive behavior, sometimes a ghost. Solomon's previous young adult novel “Imagining Katherine” was designated a Notable Book by the Association of Jewish Libraries.
Solomon will present "Connect, Create, and Heal Through the Written Word" at Montgomery Village's Seniors in Action on Tuesday, Jan. 26. For more information, visit www.carolwsolomon.com.
