MVF launches 35th annual scholarship fund drive for Village high school seniors

The Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF), in partnership with Watkins Mill High School (WMHS) and Gaithersburg High School (GHS), has awarded scholarships to deserving Montgomery Village high school seniors totaling more than $59,600 since the fund was established in 1991. MVF is once again looking for your support to be a part of this legacy in 2026.

Your generous donation to the MVF Scholarship Fund directly impacts the future of deserving students at WMHS and GHS. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership and active participation in community service. The number and size of scholarships granted each year depend entirely on the contributions we receive.

Every contribution plays a crucial role in empowering these young individuals. While the cost of higher education continues to rise, your support provides more than just financial aid; it sends a powerful message of encouragement and belief in our students’ potential.

Student applicants are screened by the College & Career Coordinator at each high school, with the MVF Scholarship Committee making the final selections in April. The MVF Scholarship Committee looks carefully at civic involvement since the donations come from Village residents. The MVF Board of Directors has established that all contributions are voluntary, and no assessment dollars are used to fund the program. This year’s fund totals and recipient names will be announced in late spring at school ceremonies and in the Montgomery Village News.
