Government offers free COVID tests through the mail
Government officials are once again sending free Covid tests through the United States Postal Service. The program's relaunch comes as COVID hospitalizations have continued to rise, passing 20,000 for the first time since March this month, according to data from the CDC.
Households will receive four rapid tests, free of charge, to those who request them. The tests are available at no cost, and ship for free. The FDA advises that people check the expiration dates on their tests and verify that they have been extended via the FDA website: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests.
To obtain tests for your household, visit https://www.covid.gov/tests, or call the COVID hotline at 1-800-232-0233.
