Free student vaccination clinics available through Sept. 25
With school starting in less than a month, families have to get ready. The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is offering free student vaccination clinics through Friday, Sept. 25, to help children meet Maryland’s school immunization requirements.
Maryland schools are required to maintain proof of immunizations for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Students who are missing required vaccinations may be excluded from school, making it important for parents and guardians to review their child’s immunization records before school begins.
Important Reminders
All students entering 7th grade must receive:
- Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine
- Meningococcal (MCV) vaccine
Parents and guardians should submit updated immunization records to their child’s school health office before the first day of school.
Free Vaccines Available
Free vaccines are available to all Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students, regardless of insurance status.
Available vaccines include:
- Tdap
- Meningococcal (MCV)
- HPV
- Chickenpox (Varicella)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
- Meningococcal B
- COVID-19
