EVP Report: New Residents Welcome Reception Nov. 12
by Mike Conroy, MVF Executive Vice President
New Residents Welcome Reception – This annual event which welcomes our newest residents is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at North Creek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Road. As always, this will include a short speaking program about what living in a planned community means, as well as opportunities to visit with area organizations and businesses. The evening’s format will be the same as previous years, with a broad range of organizations that represent service interests of Village residents, as well as MVF staff, on hand.
Personnel Recognition Awards – MVF has a peer recognition program allowing employees to nominate their coworkers for going above and beyond regular duties to reduce costs, improve processes, provide excellent customer service, and other similar behaviors, showcasing their dedication to the organization. This month, two Recreation employees were nominated for recognition, which the Executive Team and I fully supported.
Cicely Buckingham-Sharpe was honored for her extended role in identifying and preparing for a digital pool pass system. Cicely has been a key component of the research team and recently presented the process to the Recreation Committee for feedback to update policies and procedures for the 2026 pool season.
In similar fashion, Marnovan Alvero was recognized for his role as replacement emcee for the Great Pumpkin Race. When regular emcee and referee “Radio” needed to leave the event early for another engagement, Marnovan stepped into the role keeping the crowd engaged and the pumpkins rolling. His willingness to step outside of his comfort zone and play a pivotal part of one of MVF’s signature events earned the respect of his coworkers and this well-deserved nomination.
Stedwick Pool Renovation – MVF has received the silt fence permit, which triggered beginning demolition of the pool structure earlier this month. The pool construction and building permits are in the works and will be instrumental in keeping the project moving
forward toward a June 2026 opening.
