Concerts and movies under the stars return for the summer season

Summers at South Valley Park returns for another season of engaging, family-friendly outdoor concerts and Moonlight Movies, offering residents a chance to enjoy time outdoors with family and friends.

Join us at the Gordon W. Bowie Music Pavilion, located at 19003 Watkins Mill Road. Concerts will be held on select Saturdays, starting at 7 p.m., and Moonlight Movies will be on select Fridays, beginning at 7:30 p.m. This series offers a place for the community to gather and enjoy warm summer nights.

Parking and Accessibility Accommodations

Parking for South Valley Park is available at 19001 Watkins Mill Road, next to Watkins Mill Elementary School. Guests should follow the paved bike path that leads directly to the pavilion.

Due to construction at Theater Pond beginning in June, the accessible parking area previously available near the pavilion will not be available until the 2027 season. To support guests who need accommodations, MVF will provide golf cart transportation from the parking lot to the concert area. Golf carts will be stationed near the concession stand and are reserved exclusively for individuals who need assistance. All attendees should park in the same designated lot.

• June 13 – The Fearless Eras – DMVs #1 Taylor Swift cover band
• June 27 – Justin Trawick and The Common Good – a folk, bluegrass, and indie blend
• July 11 – Bongo District – a fusion of cumbia, reggae, ska, and punk
• July 25 – Philadelphia Freedom – A Tribute to Elton John
• August 1 – Unity Reggae Band – a high-energy reggae experience
• August 29 – The Reagan Years – The East Coast’s original 80s tribute band

Food trucks will be available at the following Signature concerts: The Fearless Eras, Philadelphia Freedom, and The Reagan Years.

Moonlight Movies Lineup

• July 17 – The Princess Diaries (Rated G)
• August 7 – Now You See Me, Now You Don’t (Rated PG‑13)
• September 11 – Zootopia 2 (Rated PG)

Getting Ready for Your Summer Night Out

Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, and beverages for a fun evening under the stars. Alcoholic beverages must remain within the designated Lawn Theater fencing.
