The Foundation for Hospitality and Restaurant Management (FHRM) welcomed Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students to participate in the 2nd Annual Crossvines Golf Tournament, proudly sponsored by CAVA. High school students from Watkins Mill, Springbrook, Seneca Valley and Walter Johnson collaborated with Crossvines staff to ensure the event's success.

In the kitchen, students from Watkins Mill HS partnered with the Crossvines’ head chef to prepare a delicious breakfast for the golfers. During the tournament, they cooked and served lunch to the golfers at the mid-way point. Meanwhile, hospitality students took the lead in setting up various event spaces, including the silent auction area, ballroom, and outdoor reception area. Guests were welcomed by CAVA founder Ted Xenochristos and FHRM President David Child.

During the Opening Ceremonies, MCPS students Mihir Verma, Devaney Walls, Alaya Veney, and Daniela Perez were awarded FHRM Scholarships. These scholarships will support their enrollment in post-secondary hospitality programs following their MCPS graduation.

“I could not be prouder of these four students,” said David Child, Bethesda North Marriott/FHRM President. “I cannot wait to see their next endeavors in the hospitality field. My hope is that they not only stay and excel within the industry but one day return to serve on our FHRM board to help guide future MCPS youth.”
