Village resident authors book to help families succeed
Project manager and Village resident Hilary Kinney, PMP, was inspired to write her new book “Project Management for Parents: Engage the Family. Build Teamwork. Succeed Together.” during the pandemic to help parents struggling with the increased workload at home.
Kinney said as she watched parents attempt to maintain roles as teacher, caregiver, provider and simultaneously manage their own careers, it became evident that principles from her 17 years as a project manager could be applied to everyday life.
AP News says of the book, published by Morgan James of New York City, “Project Management for Parents is a practical guidebook that equips parents, stepparents, guardians, and caregivers with techniques used by billion-dollar businesses to become more organized and productive. It provides tools for the 30.5 million working families in the United States to reduce stress and streamline life at home.”
“Project Management for Parents provides an accessible, repeatable framework that can transform families’ approach to any kind of task at home in three easy steps. It improves family relationships by creating a positive environment, fostering communication, and encouraging children to act independently. The book includes easy-to-understand exercises and tools for families with children of all ages, along with 25 real-life examples.”
The paperback book is currently available at Barnes & Noble in Gaithersburg, Curious Iguana in Frederick and Politics & Prose in Washington, DC.
