Recently, there have been several instances of residents, children and dogs seen walking or sledding across the ice of frozen ponds and lakes around MVF. Residents are reminded to stay off any ice that has formed on the lakes or ponds and are asked to remind children to stay off as well. Please also keep dogs away from the frozen lakes and ponds.

If you do see children or others venturing out onto the ice, please report it immediately to the Montgomery County Police using the non-emergency dispatch 301-279-8000, or call the MVF Office during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you see anyone fall through the ice, call 911 immediately. Remember, ice skating, wading and swimming are not permitted at any of the MVF lakes and ponds.
