Senior Support Group

articles-159

Long-time Village residents have started a support group for seniors who wish to age gracefully. This free weekly meeting is open to all who wish to discuss personal issues and challenges or make new friends.

Don’t let the effects of aging, retirement or disability leave you feeling isolated; enjoy the company of those in the same place in life to share experiences, laugh and encourage each other. Learn about the services provided by the community, transportation to medical appointments, food services, shopping assistance, emergency nursing care, scams that target seniors, involving family for support, memory aids and much more.

Discussion leaders are long-time Village residents who work as a personal specialist and a psychologist counselor, both experiencing the same challenges of aging gracefully.

Join the group discussions at 1:30 p.m. each Wednesday at Einstein Brothers Bagels in the Firstfield Shopping Center, 531 Quince Orchard Road. For more information, call Becky at 301-330-3569.
