NAMI MC Mental Health Walk May 3

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and many living in Montgomery County need resources, services and support for themselves or a loved one to manage a challenging mental health condition. illness.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Montgomery County, MD, known as NAMI Montgomery County or NAMI MC, invites the community to join them at NAMIWalks on Saturday morning, May 3 at the RIO Lakefront in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This fun, community-building event generates funds for NAMI’s top-rated programs and raises awareness about mental illness to reduce stigma and strengthen community support. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

This annual walk enables NAMI MC to raise crucial awareness and funds to meet the mental health needs in our community. The proceeds from the walk go directly toward supporting our free community programs, which include support groups, educational classes and resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness in Montgomery County.

To join NAMIWalks, visit www.namiwalks.org/montgomerycountymd. There is no registration fee, but participants are encouraged to create a walk team and raise funds for NAMI MC. Participants who raise at least $100 receive an event T-shirt.
