Montgomery Village Avenue/Midcounty Highway Safety Project Public Informational Workshop May 5
Montgomery Village residents are invited and encouraged to attend a Public Informational Workshop on Monday, May 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flower Hill Elementary School, 18425 Flower Hill Way, Gaithersburg. Hosted by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA), this workshop will address proposed pedestrian safety initiatives and intersection changes along the MD 124 (Montgomery Village Avenue/Midcounty Highway) corridor from MD 355 (Frederick Avenue) to Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard/Woodfield Road.
The MD 124 corridor in Montgomery County is planned for safety improvements as part of the SHA’s commitment to a safe and accessible transportation network for all users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
There will be no formal presentation at the May 5 workshop. Residents may arrive at any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and view the project details on maps and displays. SHA representatives will gather community input, listen to residents’ feedback on proposed improvements, and answer project-related questions. This is an important opportunity for Village residents to voice their feedback to the SHA, so the state can then take this information into consideration to advance and improve project development. The maps, displays and other information will then be made available following the workshop on the MDOT SHA Portal Page.
