Montgomery County offers free tax help for income-eligible residents
Good news for income-eligible Montgomery County residents. Residents with household incomes of $64,000 or less can now schedule free tax appointments with the Community Action Agency's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
The VITA program provides free tax help and connects residents with tax credits that can provide critical support to households. These credits include the state and federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the county’s Working Families Income Supplement (WFIS), and Child Tax Credits, which have the potential to add thousands of dollars in tax refunds for individuals and their families.
