Will your child be age 5 by September 1, 2024? Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) are enrolling now for the 2024–2025 school year. The registration process is 4 steps, and can now be completed both online and in person.

  1. Eligibility – Prospective students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024 and live in Montgomery County. Maryland law states that all children must be enrolled in school at age 5.
  2. Register – Complete your child’s registration online through ParentVue or in person at your child’s prospective school. See School Locator.
  3. Present Important Information – Birth documents, proof of county residence, health forms and identification are mandatory when registering your child. Your child must complete their required immunizations within 20 days of registration. See examples of acceptable Verification Documentation.
  4. Contact the School – Make an appointment with the school. The School Assignment website can tell you which school you belong to, or you can call the Boundary Information Line at 240-740-7725. Confirmation of enrollment will be sent within a week of registration.
