Celebrate Montgomery Village’s Golden Anniversary!
Residents, neighbors, families and friends are invited to help celebrate Montgomery Village turning 50! On Sunday, Feb. 28 (50 years to the day of the ground breaking on Montgomery Village) from 2 to 4 p.m., residents are invited to a special 50th Anniversary Kick-off Party at Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue.
Party-goers will be able to capture their memories in the free photo booth, as well as engage in Montgomery Village photo trivia and participate in creating a one-of-a-kind Community Mural. Washington Nationals mascot George Washington will also be on hand for photos; a few lucky kids will also be able to race against the president, just like at a Nationals’ game!
Residents will be able to register for official Montgomery Village License Plates and receive information for fitness walks through interesting routes around the Village. Local elected officials will present proclamations in honor of the community’s golden anniversary.
Residents will also be treated to refreshments and leave with a limited edition 50th Anniversary insulated tumbler.
