Washington Commanders support MVSA in road to championships
In December, the Montgomery Village Sports Association (MVSA) Football 13U team will be heading to the American Youth Football Championships in Naples, Florida. This opportunity was made possible in large part by the Washington Commanders, who generously donated $25,000 to help fund the team's trip. The donation was presented to the team on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 26, at their home field, South Valley Park, in Montgomery Village.
The Commanders were represented by former players Fred Smoot, Santana Moss, Tanard Jackson, Josh Morgan and Major Tuddy, the team mascot. The veteran Commanders players observed the 13U practice and shared coaching tips to help them prepare for their upcoming competition in Florida.
This special moment was captured by Sports Illustrated and shared on Facebook here.
Good luck to the MVSA Football 13U team in Florida, and a big thank you to the Washington Commanders for their generous support!
