EVP Report: Update on Lake Marion toe drain repair

Mike-Conroy-webSMALL

Lake Marion toe drain repair project – Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection has removed the orange construction fencing from Lake Marion, allowing for water levels to return to normal, for the time being. If conditions change and the water level needs to be lowered again, the fence may need to be reinstalled.

Montgomery County is still working on a repair plan and finding a contractor to repair the toe drain that has partially collapsed in the dam. The county has not provided Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) with a timeline for the repair work. MVF will update the community when more information is available regarding the timeline for the completion of the repair work.

Lakeforest SDP review – Representatives from WRS, the Lakeforest property owners and developer, will present the latest Schematic Development Plan (SDP) to Village residents virtually, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 29. The SDP, other project information, and the Zoom link for the meeting can be found online at www.montgomeryvillage.com, in the “Development and Projects” section of the website.

Advanced questions are encouraged, via the “Residents Time Question” form, to aid in facilitating the presentation. The City of Gaithersburg will receive public comment on the plan through Wednesday, Aug. 14, with anticipated action on the SDP scheduled for the City’s Monday, Aug. 26 meeting.
