2025 Candidate Statements

JESSICA AZNAR
My name is Jessica Aznar, and I am seeking election to the Eastgate Board of Directors. The Mews is a great place to live, and I look  forward to collaborating with other board members, the management team and friends in the neighborhood to continue making this a wonderful community. I have lived in the Village for 3 years with my husband, Juan, and two children, Layla (3) and George (1). Before  that, I lived in other parts of Montgomery County for my whole life and have worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as a special educator for 16 years. Within my role there, I have been a team leader, led after school camps and clubs, and developed supplemental curricula. For fun, I participate in all the amenities here in the Village such as the pool, the parks, and I’ve signed up my toddler for her very first T-ball class through MVF this spring. I believe being on the board means listening to the needs of other homeowners, understanding the financial abilities of the organization, and balancing the needs of the community with those budget constraints. I believe my background in education, experience within the community, past leadership positions within the school system, and my general ability to work well with other professionals will bring a positive energy to the Eastgate board. I like to get involved in my community and know what is happening, either by participating in or reading about issues or events. In addition, I am very solution oriented and like to look for ways to fix any potential problems that arise. My goals as a potential board member are:
1. Listen to and get feedback from neighbors
2. Communicate, be transparent and responsive to neighbors
3. Be solution-oriented
4. Be cost conscious and mindful of the budget I believe Eastgate is a great place to live, and I’d like to join the board to keep it that
way. I hope that I am selected to continue this mission with other board members.

LESTER HYMAN
My name is Lester Hyman. I have lived in Eastgate since May 1999, which is almost 26 years. I would like to serve my community and be a part of the Eastgate Board.

DARRELL ODELL
My name is Darrell Odell. I have lived in Eastgate since 2019. I am an IT leader with more than 20 years of experience managing budgets, projects and teams. I am seeking to be re-elected to the Board of Directors. I believe my primary responsibility as a board member is to ensure that our HOA funds are wisely spent for the safety and benefit of the community.
