Montgomery County public libraries debut new online library card registration

MCPL

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) are debuting a new online system that will allow county residents age 18 and older to apply for library cards. The online application system eliminates the need for appearing in person to apply for a card. Library cards provide access to digital collections, including e-books, audiobooks and online databases, as well as traditional library services.

Children under 18 years, nonresidents and those who qualify for a card based on attending school or work in Montgomery County will still need to visit a branch to apply. New and existing customers will also have the option to add their library card to their smartphone digital wallets.

Applications for a new card can be found here. Or, if you’re an existing customer, click here and sign in to add your current library card to your smartphone wallet.
