Experience beautiful Seneca Creek State Park in moonlight
The Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club is sponsoring the Bill Larson Memorial Moonlight Walk in Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg on Saturday, Nov. 16. The 10km walk (6.2 miles) or 6km walk (3.7 miles) is on park roads with a peak full moon shining. The trail is rated 2A. Come and experience our beautiful Seneca Creek State Park in moonlight and witness a different view of the world around us. This is a once-a-year opportunity. Both trails are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
The Start/Finish point is the Seneca Creek State Park Offices, 11950 Clopper Road, in Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Registration is between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Registrants must finish the walk by 10 p.m. The park will be open after hours for volksmarchers only, and the park gates will close promptly at 10:30 p.m.
All walkers 12 years and older will pay the $4 participation fee. Walkers who are 12 years and younger will have free admission. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish point. We strongly suggest that walkers carry flashlights. No pets are allowed on the park trails at night. Hot/cold cider and home-baked treats will be for sale at the Start/Finish point.
