East Village Avenue All Way Stops (AWS) – Despite an original timeline of September, Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is committed to installing the AWS at the identified intersections along East Village Avenue by October 2024. Prior to installation, they will notify the HOA/CA groups of the affected neighborhoods as well as will post signs along the road indicating “New Traffic Pattern/New Stop Sign.” As soon as MVF receives notice of the project install dates, we will work with the county to promote the changes to the traffic pattern.
Centerway Local Park – The playground and pavilion improvements at Centerway Local Park were recently completed, and the park is now reopened to the public. An official reopening ceremony has not been announced yet, however, in the meantime, residents can enjoy the new amenities at this county park. The improvements were supported by state funds secured by Senator Nancy King.
Village Center Townhouses – Construction has begun on the first string of townhomes in the rear of the Village Center. Road and utility infrastructure is complete, and foundations for the first homes are being completed, with anticipated settlement in Q1 2025. According to the developer, full buildout of all townhouse units at the Village Center is anticipated in Q4 2026.
Bloom Village Area 2 – Construction access from Watkins Mill Road has been cut for the beginning of roadwork on this final phase of Bloom Village. Area 2 will feature mostly townhomes, and a few single family homes along the extension of Stewartown Road. The road will connect to Montgomery Village Avenue at David Humpton Park. Additionally, with this phase of Bloom Village, MVF will see the community gardens come to fruition, anticipated in 2025.
