Imagination Library of Montgomery County is once again offering the national program to Montgomery Village residents. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides free, new, age-appropriate books to children through age 5, each month that they are enrolled in the program.

Beginning with “The Little Engine That Could,” children are sent a free book every month to encourage a passion for reading and jumpstart kindergarten preparedness. Parents and children are asked to read together to strengthen bonds, learn new things, develop language skills and explore the magic of books.

Montgomery Village residents are now able to sign up online for the service at www.imaginationlibrarymcmd.org. No personal information will be shared or sold, however a valid parent/guardian email address is required, as well as the child(ren)’s name and date of birth. Children must reside in the home at the given address; the post office will not deliver to relatives, friends or business addresses. If a family is not in an eligible zip code now, they can register at the same site to be notified automatically when the program is available in their area.
