April 26 fundraiser supports beds for children in need
On Saturday, April 26, Sleep in Heavenly Peace will host a charity fundraiser to expand its reach in Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg, Germantown and Damascus and provide more beds to children in need. This event is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is on a mission to change this in Montgomery County and is determined to ensure that every child in the county has a bed to call their own so they can sleep well, grow strong, and dream big.
Did you know that throughout Montgomery County, more than 20,000 kids are without a bed, sleeping on floors, couches and air mattresses? These uncomfortable sleeping conditions rob them of the proper sleep they need to thrive. When children don’t get the proper rest, their physical health, emotional well-being and cognitive development suffer. Over time, the emotional toll becomes overwhelming—leading to anxiety, depression and a feeling of hopelessness. This cycle can affect their future, limiting their potential and ability to break free from the hardships they face.
The Maryknights, Auxiliary of the Father Rosensteel Council Knights of Columbus, invite you to an evening of 'Building Dreams' to support Sleep In Heavenly Peace, a local non-profit that works together with local businesses and other supporters to answer the growing need for beds for vulnerable children. This event will be Saturday, April 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Father Rosensteel Council, 9707 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. Get your tickets or donate here.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds beds and delivers them to children in most need. It takes a village to support the community, and this organization is looking for help, and here is how the community can help:
- Come to the April 26 event: Your presence will make a difference.
- Invite friends and family: The more people who join, the more kids can be helped.
