Free Community “Pedestrian Safety Day” in Rockville on May 11

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), along with the organizational talents of the Vision Zero Youth Ambassadors, are hosting a family-friendly, free event for county residents on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carver Educational Center in Rockville.

County to provide free deck inspections in May

The Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services (DPS) will provide free residential deck maintenance inspections during the month of May as part of its annual Building Safety Month campaign. The program began on May 1 and is limited to 250 appointments. Requests must be from the homeowner and must not be for a deck that has previously received a DPS deck inspection. Balconies are also excluded from the program.
