Celebrate Independence Day in your community with a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy! Each year, Montgomery Village hosts a 5K & Fun Run, Community Parade and Family Festivities on this great summer holiday. Activities run from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the pools in the afternoon and get to that afternoon/evening barbeque with friends and neighbors.

Start your Independence Day Celebration the fun and fit way by participating in the Montgomery Village 5K Race or Fun Run at Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue. Montgomery County Road Runners, one of the most highly respected running organizations in the state, will be back this year to handle electronic chip timing, along with the return of high-quality wicking race shirts and water bottles (while supplies last).
Register by 7:30 a.m. on race day for the 5K at $35 per participant or the Fun Run at $25 per participant.
Children's & Community Parade
2020 Parade Theme: "Stars, Stripes & Summer Knights"
9 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. judging, 10 a.m. start!
The parade will feature fire engines, classic cars, community groups, eye-catching mascots and floats, music and more! You can find a curbside seat and enjoy your hometown parade! Participants register and line up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot, 20020 Montgomery Village Avenue.
Enter the parade! Decorate a bike, a wagon or yourself and strut your stuff down Apple Ridge Road. It’s free, fun and a great way to show your creativity and community spirit. Parade entries that best reflect the theme “Stars, Stripes & Summer Knights” will be judged in the following categories: Decorated Bicycle 4 to 8-year-olds; Decorated Bicycle 9 and older; Decorated Big Wheel, Tricycle or Motorized Toy Vehicle 6 and younger; Decorated Stroller; Best Costume 4 and younger; Best Costume 7 and older; Community Banner or Sign; Hand Pulled Float; Motorized Float; Marching Group; Performing Marching Group; Decorated Wheel Chair.

Immediately following the parade, 10:45 a.m.
The celebration starts with some great live music from Southern Charm! During a short break, the MVF Board President will officially open the event and announce parade contest winners.
Carnival Games, Rides, Crafts, Bingo, Festival Food and Concert
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
After the parade, stay at the Apple Ridge Pool and Recreation Area for a fun-filled celebration. Highlights will include a rock climbing wall, Reckless carnival ride, Kiddie Ferris Wheel and a giant inflatable slide. Food choices will include Sandwiches, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken Tenders, French Fries, Subs, Ice Cream and plenty of cold drinks. Take a chance on BINGO, play carnival games and the great music provided by the Montgomery Village Community Band.
