Are you looking to get involved in your community? Do you have a few hours to spare that can be dedicated to reviewing Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) Board candidate applications, accounting and treasury functions, investments or financial processes, administering the MVF Board election, and helping keep Montgomery Village moving forward? If yes, consider applying for appointment as MVF Board Treasurer or to the MVF Nominating, Election, Audit or Investment committees.

MVF Board Treasurer
Responsibilities of the volunteer Board Treasurer include working in coordination with the MVF CFO to oversee the accounting and treasury functions of MVF; being an active member of both the Audit and Investment committees; and providing high-level review and presentation of MVF’s monthly financial statements to the Board at its monthly meetings.

Audit Committee
Currently, one or two Montgomery Village resident volunteer members are needed for this committee, which meets on Tuesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom Meeting, three times each year.

This committee advises the MVF Board of Directors on financial matters and reviews the annual operating budget. The committee reviews and recommends for approval the annual budget and audit, as well as recommending an accounting firm to perform the annual audit of MVF’s books, accounts and records. A background, education or professional experience that includes accounting, auditing, finance, business and/or management is preferred.

Investment Committee
Currently, three Montgomery Village resident volunteer members are needed for this committee, which meets quarterly on Mondays at 7 p.m. via Zoom Meeting.

With help from MVF’s third-party Investment Advisors, this committee addresses and advises the Board on matters specifically related to MVF’s investment activities. The committee reviews quarterly investment performance, makes recommendations to the Board on investment strategy and policy, and approves investment transactions in line with the policy.

Applicants should have a recent background, education or professional experience that

includes expertise in investment management/banking and be a resident in good standing of Montgomery Village. Certified Financial Advisors, Investment Advisors and Chief Financial Officers are encouraged to apply.

Nominating Committee
Currently, one or two Montgomery Village resident volunteer members are needed for this committee, which meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. three times per year via Zoom Meeting.

This committee solicits applicants for the MVF Board of Directors, reviews applications for nomination and selects a slate of candidates to present to the current MVF Board. MVF’s By-laws limit membership to Village property owners.

Election Committee
Currently, one or two Montgomery Village resident volunteer members are needed for this committee, which meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. two times per year via Zoom Meeting and in person at the MVF Office one Saturday in March to count election ballots.
