Are you interested in helping to continually make Montgomery Village a terrific place to live? Are you concerned with problems that face communities today and in the future?
Each November, a call goes out for candidates for the Montgomery Village Board of Directors election, officially held in March. Three directors are elected to three-year terms. A director contributes his or her time, usually several hours each month, to help oversee the management of the Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) and determine future policy in areas such as finance, recreation, architectural standards, facilities maintenance and others. It's demanding and rewarding and, as a Board member, you are directly involved in matters affecting Montgomery County and the Village for years to come.
To qualify as a candidate for the MVF Board of Directors, you must demonstrate your interest in community affairs and show a willingness to get involved. Perhaps you have been active in the PTA, Scouting or youth activities. It's not necessary to be an accountant or lawyer or have a degree in management, but you should be able to understand issues of varying complexity in order to make decisions.
Candidates must be Village residents or property owners, 18 years of age or older, be current in all assessment payments and in good standing with MVF.
The Nominating Committee members are named by the MVF Board. The official election process begins each November. Watch the Village News and this website for updates.
