The Summers at South Valley Park lineup of musical acts and family activities has a few performances left, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Asbury Methodist Village!

The summer was set to kick off with an awesome concert by the east coast’s original 80’s tribute band, The Reagan Years, but due to severe weather and storms, the performance was postponed. Instead, we’re closing out the summer with an End of Summer Bash with The Reagan Years on Sunday, Aug. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your family, friends and neighbors, along with your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks, to enjoy the best tunes from the 80s for free! This family-friendly show will be sure to get you singing and dancing to some classic songs.

The Reagan Years has been rocking across the country since 1996 and will play all your favorite 80’s hits from “Don’t Stop Believin’,” to “Hit Me with Your Best Shot.” Hope for great weather as we welcome this local phenomenon back to the Village! You may recall that The Reagan Years played a special 50th Anniversary Concert at Apple Ridge Recreation Area in 2016, and they are back to rock the Village once more!

Elk Run Winery and Manor Hill Brewing will be at the event selling drinks (to those ages 21 and over) by the bottle as well as offering tastings.

As another part of Summers at South Valley Park, enjoy a movie under the stars with the family on Friday, Aug. 3. Bring your blanket or chairs and watch Disney Pixar’s new animated film “Coco” on the big screen. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk.

For all events at the Gordon W. Bowie Music Pavilion, parking is available behind Watkins Mill Elementary School, 19003 Watkins Mill Road. Handicap accessible parking is available by calling 301-948-0110 in advance of the performances. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics/food and beverages for an evening out at the outdoor amphitheater.
