As of June 10, the Montgomery County 6th District Police added a new Montgomery Village Team to its ranks. The team is comprised of a sergeant, a corporal and four police officers, whose primary responsibility will be to provide proactive patrols and problem solving in the Village. While the team will run calls for service from time to time, their focus is to work on problem solving through community outreach, coordination of resources and of course enforcement efforts.

The team is led by Sgt. Carlo Corvoisier who has extensive experience in Wheaton patrol, the Special Assignment Team, Narcotics and more. His second in command is a long-time 6th District member and former School Resource Officer at Watkins Mill High School. The officers were hand selected and each bring a variety of experience and strong passion for making a difference.

To maintain a coordinated Village team, the School Resource Officer and the Community Services Officer will also operate under the Montgomery Village Team, keeping Village efforts coordinated in one chain of command.

Robert Sector Deputy Commander Lt. Jason Cokinos has been selected to fill an assignment as the Executive Officer for Assistant Chief of Police Russ Hamill. Lt. Cokinos will be helping lead the department’s Management Services Bureau and helping the department get the tools and tech needed to continue to perform with a high rate of success. Lt. Cokinos’ position in the 6th District will be filled by Lt. Daniel Friz. Lt. Friz has served with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Gaithersburg Police and MCPD for the last 25 years.
