Independence Day Celebration - "Out of Many, One"

Children’s and Community Parade - 9 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. judging, 10 a.m. start!

Participants register and line up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot, 20020 Montgomery Village Avenue.

The parade will feature fire engines, classic cars, community groups, eye-catching mascots and floats, music and more! Find a curbside seat and enjoy your hometown parade!

Enter the parade! Decorate a bike, a wagon or yourself and strut your stuff down Apple Ridge Road. It’s free, fun and a great way to show your creativity and community spirit. Parade entries which best reflect the theme “Out of Many, One” will be judged in the following categories: Bicycles 4 to 8-year-olds; Bicycles 9 and older; Big Wheel or Tricycle; Motorized Toy Vehicle (6 and younger); Decorated Stroller; Best Costume 4 and younger; Best Costume 6 to 10-year-olds; Best Costume 11 and older; Community Banner or Sign; Hand Pulled Float; Motorized Float; Marching Group; Performing Marching Group; Decorated Wheel Chair/Walker/Rollator.

Free Rock ‘n’ Roll Show - Immediately following the parade, 10:45 a.m.  The celebration starts with some great live music from The Back Pages Band! During a short break, MVF Board President Pete Young will officially open the event and announce parade contest winners.

Carnival Games, Rides, Crafts, Bingo, Festival Food and Concert 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

After the parade, stay at the Apple Ridge Pool and Recreation Area for a fun-filled celebration. Highlights include a climbing rock wall, a giant slide, a pirate ship ride, a twister swing ride and more. Food choices will include ice cream, pizza, sandwiches and plenty of cold drinks. Take a chance on BINGO, play carnival games and listen to festive music provided by the Montgomery Village Community Band.
